My friend J$ over at Budgets Are Sexy was kind enough to let me guest post today! Hopefully he’s enjoying the extra day of paternity leave with his newest Penny. So if you’ve ever dreamt of running away with the circus, head over there and check this out.
When I was eleven, I made a bucket list. It has some crazy things on it like go skydiving (nailed it) and learn how a watch works (why did that seem necessary??), but I specifically remember rejecting “run away with the circus” because eleven year old me thought that would never really happen.
Turns out, it did. Read more here.
And if you’re really interested in circus life, you can check out another post of mine called A Day in the Life of a Circus Stage Manager.
I loved this post! I never thought twice about what it was like to live on a circus train, yet I was so intrigued.

Interesting post. Sounds like you had a good time working at the circus, minus the hours. (Up from 3am to 10pm?!…and that’s not including the time it takes to get ready.) God bless your soul! 🙂

I don’t know, the longer I’m away, the more rose colored my glasses get, but yes, it definitely had some really awesome moments. The hours though were a definite deal breaker.
