Accountability: September 2018

Profile

I am thirty four years old and the Performance Director at Big Apple Circus. I make $70,000 a year and live in a show provided RV. I also have health insurance through this job that’s deducted straight from my paycheck, so I don’t really count it in my bills since it’s never money I see anyway (it’s roughly $150/month). This month we lost cookhouse privileges that used to be part of working here, so my food expenses will go up. On the plus side, the cookhouse is super cheap, on the negative side, it used to be free.

Saving & Spending

My work related spending is pretty high this month. Nothing like the company putting everyone on a spending freeze in the middle of rehearsals to force my hand into buying more than I usually would and just putting in for reimbursement.

On the flip side, I’ve been working so much that most other spending categories are down. The only one showing a boost again is the RV line because I’m trying to purchase some items to keep from freezing to death in Lincoln Center (a better heater, extension cords and 30 and 50 amp power adaptors so I can run an extension cord in through a window this year for an extra electric heater).

On our dark days, I go home, which is also very inexpensive.

My expenses this month:

  • Food – $335.85
  • Gas – $64.77
  • Lifelock – $9.99
  • brokeGIRLrich – $2.99
