I don’t know about you but my Facebook and Instagram targeted messages took a hard turn towards Zeelool at the end of the summer.

I’m sure somehow my phone heard me complaining about Coastal eyeglasses and that I had totally lost all patience with them, but whatever the reason, I was intrigued.

I have seen numerous ads for $1 – $10 frames and that’s pretty cheap.

However, I am also blind as a bat, and I know from my many experiences ordering glasses online:

My lenses cost an arm and a leg.

Those fun little ads for cheap eyeglasses are always a joke because once they see my prescription strength, the price shoots up like $50 at best. And, as us high prescription wearers know, it’s worth it to pay to get the thinner lenses too or else you’re carrying like 5 pounds of glass/plastic on your nose.

And even thinner lenses are a joke because they are legit still coke-bottle glasses.

Yay poor eyesight.

Well, I decided that since the too big Coastal pair were not going to cut it for the next few years, I’d look into these Zeelool glasses.

They have a lot of fun frames, but I was drawn to this red pair.

Fun side story: I had totally blocked this out but my mom had a pair just like these in the early ‘90s and I used to make fun of her giant, chunky red glasses look. Who would buy that? I remember thinking she looked ridiculous. Further proof we all turn into our mothers. I like to think she was looking down and laughing her butt off as I made this purchase, blissfully unaware I had turned into her until I put them on, looked in the mirror, and started to laugh cause Mary Ellen 1993 was looking back at me.

They were on sale for $7. I was bracing myself for the price to skyrocket when I got to the lenses but they were $10 for regular lenses and an additional $10 to make them a little thinner.

So these glasses were $27.

Shipping was an additional $6.95.

I had read in a few places that shipping can take a long time, so I prepared myself to wait. With the Standard Shipping, I had them in about two weeks, so I was pretty happy.

The grand total was $33.95. A very reasonable price for some eyeglasses for someone with zero vision insurance.

I will also note Zeelool often has additional discounts to check out. If you have Honey installed, it’s likely to find some of those coupon codes for you.

But how do they look?

Well, I really like them. And they fit properly – which was main my complaint about my last pair of internet glasses.

They’re comfortable and I can wear them all day without my ears or nose getting uncomfortable. They don’t slide off my face. All the wins.

Overall, I highly recommend them as a budget friendly eyeglasses option – especially if you’re looking for fun frames.
