Doesn’t all of this talk of side hustling make you want to take action?
And isn’t it easier with a GOAL? Well, if you were thinking of going to FinCon, let me provide you with one:
Want to join the SIDE HUSTLE YOUR WAY TO FINCON competition? The first person to raise $1500 side hustling wins. And the losers buy your dinner one night at FinCon
The competition starts on March 1st, you can sign up here and track your earnings in the spreadsheet. I’ll post an update each month, and you can keep the blogosphere up to date on your progress and your side hustling schemes!
If you were planning on using miles or points or whatever to pay for FinCon, go for it. But the point of the competition is to raise $1500 on the side before FinCon starts. If you can get there for less, then you’ve just hustled up a great start to an emergency fund or IRA. Er, or maybe a couch. You know, whatever floats your boat.
Here are some way better posts about FinCon to get you excited about it:

Also, side hustle idea, why isn’t there a website that a bunch of people can sign up to compete against each other to some goal and you can track it publicly and easily? Maybe I’m just Googling the wrong things.
Great idea! My side hustle money counts as all my freelance income though so it don’t really count as extra money for me! Still, I do plan on trying to make fincon more affordable this year than last year! I spent a little too much money.

Awesome idea! Last year I saved ahead of time so I wouldn’t be broke come my October paycheck. This year FinCon is a few weeks earlier, so I will have to work a little harder/faster.

Thanks for the post mention! This a great idea. Some ideas that I’ve done to make money – baby sitting, pet sitting, dog walking, part-time work on weekends at a local bookstore, staff writing for blogs, ghost writing for bloggers, and my husband is a contract sports official for subvarsity and varsity football and softball. Any of those could make someone $1500 in 3-5 months.

I love the idea! There’s no way I can make it to FinCon (I’m in Australia), but I’m keen to join the challenge!
I’m trying to make some side money at the moment through blogging and developing 2 niche websites, but I’ve got a few more ideas up my sleeve.
It doesn’t look like my blog or niche sites will get me to $1,500 any time soon! 🙁

Aw, maybe not soon, but there’s definitely potential in that! And I know the feeling, my blog is DEFINITELY my least lucrative side hustle.
If my rental income counted as side hustle money, it would be a lopsided challenge. Even though it is side hustle money. Or my other revenue streams. Now if I could only make a $1 or $2 from my blog, that would get me really excited!
