I’ve heard so many other podcasts refer to Side Hustle Nation, I can’t believe it took me this long to finally subject the van to it. Side hustles are also usually a favorite topic among my cast, since it can be a challenge to find survival jobs that fit our needs in the arts community.
As we’ve just finished driving completely across the country for 4 days, we had some time to listen to a few podcast (I think my cast used to be excited when I drove, since it meant none of them had to, but we listened to a few podcasts that were real snoozers and that excitement waned quickly). Fortunately, Side Hustle Nation is a far cry from a snoozer!
I like to spread out the podcasts we listen to with established podcasts, so we’ve got some older ones and one of the newest Side Hustle Nation podcasts and I’ve got say, they were all hits. I purposely tried to make sure we didn’t listen to too many on blogging, since I know that’s a super interesting topic to me and incredibly dull to the rest of the my cast. So I limited it to only one podcast about blogging.
We started with $10k a Month Blogging Part-Time, one of Nick’s more recent podcasts, because, to be honest, I’d love to know what to do to get up to $10k a month with my blog. Unfortunately, most of my cast zoned out during this podcast and didn’t get much response. However, if you are already a blogger, this is a great episode to check out.
I also loved that Robert only blogs part time, since I love my day job too.
The Path to Passive Income on Udemy – Even If You’re Not an Expert got a lot more response. I loved the emphasis on how anyone can teach anyone as long as they know more on the subject that the person they are teaching.
If you’ve ever thought you could teach your own course on something, this is the podcast episode you should be listening to. Scott not only shares his general story of how he created his first few courses, but very specific details on how to test out best titles, get reviews early on and sites that can be an asset to anyone trying to create a course.
From 1 to 100,000 Downloads – App Development, Discovery, and Monetization with Alex Genadinik was another big hit. I think every one of us had some app idea that we never put any effort into that turned into something pretty big (I’m looking at you, Roadtrippers app, I totally had that idea first – and no idea about what to do with it). There are so many great tips for anyone who has ever thought of developing an app, even if you don’t have a clue what you’re doing on the tech side of things.
Side Hustle Nation was pretty popular in the van and reminded me that there are just so many ways you can bring in some extra money regularly! Another new podcast for regular rotation in the van.
Girl, I love me some podcasts! I totally look forward to posts in this series because you’re helping me discover more and more!
