The thing about New Year’s is that I don’t really trust it. It’s one of those times when I get all maudlin about what I haven’t accomplished and how life isn’t completely perfect (I do the same thing right before my birthday – I have super healthy habits). I think it’s because of all the cynicism I notice towards New Year’s resolutions, I mean, barely anyone keeps them more than a month or two anyway, so what’s the point? Read more.
I know what you mean about the pressure of the resolution. I try not to put too much pressure on myself and take baby steps. It sounds like you stay focused year round.

I definitely try to. I think the nice thing is that a year is kind of a long time – and I think I picked achievable things – so even if I get off track for a while, there’s still time to rally. And blogging helps too. It keeps me way more accountable than I was before.
