Is Your Career Slowing You Down? Perhaps It’s Time For A Change

Not all of us really know what we want to do in terms of a career while at school and at such a young age. Some people are lucky enough to know what interests them and where their passions lie, whereas the majority of people simply have no real clue. You can end up in a job or career that kind of happened by accident. But in some cases that career isn’t where you see yourself being forever, and so you look at whether now is the time to make that leap into something you really want to do. I thought I would share with you some ideas on how to pinpoint the right career choice for you. I hope it gives you the inspiration to make that change yourself.

Head for numbers?

Maybe you have a real head for figures, but right now your job doesn’t involve anything remotely to do with it. Then a change of career could be in order. Accounting is a great career move and many companies and industries need people like that to help with forecasts and the financial side of a business. It could prove to be very useful for the future and help you get a career that you enjoy.

For example, people have blogs these days as hobbies but have a managed to make them careers as they have decided to monetise and offer sponsored content and advertisement. People have taken their skills and gone freelance or developed products or services and created businesses form them. There are things you could consider doing to help you turn a hobby into your career.

    Life is simply too short to spend our best hours and years doing work that we don’t genuinely love. That doesn’t mean you should make a dramatic career change now, however, you should always be looking to apply your unique skills and passions to your job.

    It may be wise to first see if you can be more ‘You’ in your current job before jumping ship.
