**This is a sponsored post. That doesn’t mean it’s not a cool app.**
I am always on the lookout for new apps that help you earn money or rewards, but what about an app that helps your make money while you’re doing something dull?
Like commuting?
That’s where Instant Rewards comes in. Before leaving work yesterday, I downloaded the app. While waiting for the train, I made about 75 cents. Is that lot? No.
But if I work 300 days this year and make 75 cents every day while I wait for the subway that turns into $225. And if I do it on the way to and from work, then it’s $450.
That doesn’t sound too bad to me.
The interface is super user friendly and it sure did kill time on the way home today just as well as Drop 7 or Word Warp ever do. Those never make me any money and I’m regularly irritated when I can’t figure unscramble the 6 letter word.
With Instant Rewards, you can earn points a few different ways. You can download apps through their app – anything from Hotels.com to crazy free games like Dragons World. Each opportunity has a certain number of credits it’s worth. 1 Credit = 1 Penny.
Liking them on Facebook, following on Twitter or posting a screenshot to Instagram can all rake you in about 10 cents each.
You can also sign up for offers, similar to offers you can find on websites like Swagbucks. So if you were looking to price compare several different health insurance sites, why not get that ball rolling through Instant Rewards and make 64 cents in the process? I can see how they claim active users can make up around $10 a day.
You can sign up for several sweepstakes to earn some credits, watch advertisements and fill out surveys.
When you’re ready to cash out, you can do so through PayPal or through Amazon gift cards.
Another cool thing is that after you complete a few offers, it starts to offer you coupons. I already qualified for $2 off an instant dinner (granted, not a brand I was interested in) and a $2 credit for Amazon MP3s.
Ready to give Instant Rewards a try?
You can download it here. As a bonus, you can enter this code and start out with an extra 10 cents (full disclosure, I get a bonus too when you use my code): cBvKv9xu3bU4M
I live finding awesome apps like this! Will be checking it out for sure!

I always see a lot of these things to make a small amount of money here or there just using your phone during your spare time. The problem for me is that I don’t have a smart phone so I can’t do them. I don’t know how much a data plan on a smart phone costs but I’m guessing that the $20-$30 I’m saving per month by not having a smart phone works in my favor.

I agree – you’re definitely onto something there. And $20-30 is pretty conservative. I manage that as part of my parents family plan. A stand alone is more like $100 a month. Which is madness.
Swagbucks is actually based online, if you were interested in checking out a similar type of site, but without a smartphone.
Family Plan FTW!! I’m actually still on a family plan and my dad’s work still pays for it. I think that will change once he retires, but until then I will enjoy the benefits of having one less bill every month.

I have never really looked into apps like this to make money. I have complete some surveys in order to get points for merchandise. I will have to check some of these out.
Yeah, it’s a pretty cool app – especially if you don’t mind downloading other apps, leaving them on your phone for a day or two and then deleting them. Unless you like ’em, of course ;o)
I have a black berry and it’s a work phone so I won’t be using that for this type of thing. Sometimes I wonder what I may be missing out on not having a personal 3G phone but for the cost, I think I’m doing okay for now.

I don’t think you’re missing out on much – I haven’t found any app that makes enough money that it would pay for the monthly phone service on its own.
