Holidays, as some scientists have proved, are crucial for our health. But in many cases, not every one of us can afford to travel somewhere far away and exotic to run away from work school or routine. However, if you really want something in your life – there are always some ways you can get what you want. Today, we are going to share a list of five fantastic, breathtaking and actually super cheap holiday destinations around the globe which won’t make your wallet empty at all!
Latvia
I don’t know how much you have heard about this small Baltic state, but everything should change right now because it is amazing! Riga – the capital city of Latvia – is the biggest town in the country and is full of thousands of fantastic cultural objects and was noticed by various cultural organizations. For instance, in 2014 Riga was named the official European Capital of Culture by the European Union, while the entire capital was awarded the title of UNESCO World Heritage site. If these titles say something to you – you know that they are not given so easily. And, of course, since Latvia is a relatively new player in the tourism industry and prices there are pretty small too.
Cambodia
Now let’s fly way to another side of the world and let’s land in Cambodia – another fantastic and cheap vacation destination. Apart from the fact that it might cost a bit more to get in here, accommodation options in Cambodia start from 4 dollars a night in a hostel, which is insanely cheap! The food there is also pretty cheap, and there are plenty of free tourists’ attractions you can enjoy as well. And, of course, let’s not forget beautiful ancient monuments and palaces you can visit either for free or for a very tiny fee. I don’t know how about you, but Cambodia sounds a lot like a real paradise for all budget travelers.
Northern Ireland
Tourists forget Northern Ireland without any significant reason. It is popular for its music, literature, and dramatic arts and it is pretty cheap too. In fact, one travel magazine reported that Northern Ireland’s government has invested $25 million in the tourism industry and works hard to attract more tourists to this beautiful place. Here you might also enjoy unique nature only British Island can have and have the best beer in a local pub without opening your wallet that much as in similar pubs in London or Dublin.
Turkey
Turkey is very loved by budget travelers in Europe, so it is time for American tourists to discover this country’s beauty and budget-friendliness. Turkey is rich in so many ways – with its ancient history, incredible natural phenomenon, high-class but still cheap hotels and fabulous weather all year long, this country is a dream come true for all. Also, despite the fact that this country is Muslim, many people, especially in bigger cities and resorts, are very open minded and friendly for visitors. So, there is no reason why you shouldn’t consider Turkey as your next adventure destination!
Nepal
And finally, probably the most exotic country in this list – Nepal. In fact, it is likely to be the cheapest country here as well, because some Lonely Planet specialists have counted that a trip to this beautiful Himalayan country can cost… 5-7 dollars A DAY! Yes! It is possible to spend less than 10 dollars in Nepal, but be ready to eat at local food vendors and choose public transportation within the country. The best part is that Nepal just recently started to invite visitors from other nations, and therefore they are making their prices super low to attract them. All that sums up to amazingly cheap vacations in one of the most beautiful countries in Asia.

Good suggestions. There are so many beautiful places all around the world that are not particularly expensive. It’s just that they are not always well-known so people don’t have a clue. Many great places in Europe and Asia, great for those traveling on a budget.

Another great thing about traveling to inexpensive locations like Cambodia and Nepal are that you can hire a guide and driver for your trip for very little cost, and not have to figure out any of the details of planning out the day to day site-seeing plans and transportation. We traveled to Cambodia with a 3-year old and 18-month old and never would have been able to pull it off without a personal guide and driver. I definitely want to visit the other locations on this list!
